About Arielle
As chair of The Public Theater's board of trustees from 2014 through 2023, Arielle led major initiatives, including the opening of new rehearsal studios at 440 Lafayette, the largest studios in Manhattan and navigating the pandemic’s challenges.
Her theatrical production credits include award-winning shows like Red, Frost Nixon, and Annie. She produced her first film in 1999 and had a first look deal with October Films and went on to executive produce Genius, starring Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.
Arielle’s other commercial ventures include, co-creating immersive experiences such as The Candy Cottage of Christmas Magic at Rockefeller Center and involvement in The Paddington Bear Experience in London.
As a strong female leader always ahead of her time, Arielle Tepper’s tireless commitment to producing, mentoring, emerging artists, education and creating accessibility to the arts for all, knows no bounds. At 25, she was the youngest producer on Broadway and had a first look deal with October Films. With a career that has garnered numerous Tony® and Olivier Awards and countless other accolades, she has a reputation for working with the best of the best in the industry. Most recently she co-created The Candy Cottage of Christmas Magic, an immersive experience in Rockefeller Center for the 2023 holiday season and is involved with The Paddington Bear Experience opening in London Summer 2024.
Arielle Tepper’s philanthropy work includes serving as The Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Public Theater in New York City (2014-2023). The Public theater at Astor Place has 5 theaters, Joe’s Pub Cabaret Space, The David Rockwell designed Library Restaurant and produces Free Shakespeare in Central Park. Ms. Tepper was also integral to the opening of their new space at 440 Lafayette which has the largest rehearsal studios in NYC. She led the institution through the pandemic ensuring that The Public would continue its work with its community partner organizations. She felt that even though they weren’t able to produce shows on their stages, it was extremely important that they didn’t let down the people who had trusted them the most. She was also a member of The Board of Governors for The Broadway League and a Board Member of The Dalton School. In addition, she is a Lifetime Board member of Syracuse University having been their youngest board member appointed at 23 years old.
In her lifelong effort to promote Theater Education, in 2001, Ms. Tepper created The Tepper Center for Careers in Theatre, through the Syracuse University Theater Program, which provides opportunities for all college seniors to develop specific strategies for pursuing their career goals in the entertainment industry. In 2005, she initiated a theater program for second and third graders at The Dalton School which continues on.
In 2004 Ms. Tepper also formed The Living Room for Artists a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization to sustain and support the Summer Play Festival (SPF) which was first presented in 2004 in Midtown West and then moved to The Public Theater, ending in 2011. Many NY theaters followed suit by building 3rd stages for emerging writers. She then connected SPF to The Donmar Warehouse and together they created the Playwright Residency Program in London for emerging American artists.
Ms. Tepper also had a first look deal with The Donmar Warehouse working with Artistic Director Michael Grandage from 2005 to 2012 and Josie Rourke from 2012 to 2016. Continuing her work with both Michael Grandage and John Logan, Ms. Tepper was Executive Producer of the film Genius by John Logan directed by Michael Grandage starring Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman, Jude Law, and Laura Linney.
